Student Volunteering Week 2014 is taking place from February 24 until March 2nd and we have a whole host of exciting events taking place on campus for students to get involved in. Whether you like running, community groups, live music, fundraising, comedy or just giving your time for a good cause this week is for you. Keep an eye out for our Student Volunteering Ambassadors on campus as well.
February 24th – Good Deed Day
We’ve linked up with the NUS, Student Hubs and Good Gym to bring you an event which will get you fit whilst doing good in the local community. Starting at LSE there will be six runs, ranging from 2km to 14km, to participate in. At the half way point of the run you will help out at a local community group. We’re expecting 150 people to participate so get signed up quickly! It starts at 10am and you’ll be back in time for a well deserved lunch.
February 25th – One-off volunteering for St John’s Hospice
We’re working with St John’s Hospice to raise funds and awareness of their work at a charity day taking place in Sainsbury’s. You’ll be joining a team of students doing some fantastic work.
Febraury 27th – Y the F Not? Big Ideas Exchange – The Youth Funding Network (YFTN)
We’ve joined forces with LSE SU RAG and The Youth Funding Network to bring you an event to warm the heart. Three small charities will be pitching directly to you and then you get to decide who gets your funding and time. We have fantastic entertainment lined up with live music and comedy. Don’t miss out.
