This year’s London Student Volunteering Fortnight (LSVF) kicks off on the 22 October and runs until 5 November.
LSVF is a two-week long, annual event designed to get the students of London engaged in voluntary work in their local communities. This year five universities have come together to organise LSVF, including LSE, UCL, Queen Mary, Imperial and City.
There are a series of one-off volunteering events happening over the two week period, all of which are advertised under the ‘Events’ tab on CareerHub. Volunteers from all institutions will attend so it’s a great opportunity to meet a different group of students whilst making a difference to the communities you share.
The volunteering sessions which are part of LSVF have so far been extremely popular, with the first one fully booked! However, there are still places to help volunteer to sort clothes donations at a homeless hostel, restore one of London’s oldest cemeteries, and to help with a clear out at the St Pancras Community Centre, so book your place now.
We’d love to hear about your LSVF experiences as you take part so make sure to use #LSVF on social media and as always, feel free to contact us at the LSE Volunteer Centre with your experiences at volunteer@lse.ac.uk.
