The Presidential Management Fellows (PMF) program is America’s prestigious flagship leadership programme which sees current and recent graduates from around the world competing for exclusive opportunities across US government departments and agencies including the Department of State, Department of Labor, Environmental Protection Agency and USAID. To see just some of the things successful fellows achieve have a look at the US Office of Personnel Management video.
Back in November 2015, 808 students were shortlisted from 6,050 applications as semi-finalists, with 17 students from LSE successfully making it through to the final round.
On Wednesday 24 February, the US Office of Personnel Management announced its list of 552 finalists for the class of 2016 with 12 LSE students (or 3% of the total) successfully joining this prestigious cohort after a series of final interviews held in Washington, D.C. in January. This is an increase of 20% from 2015 and places LSE joint seventh worldwide alongside Harvard Kennedy School and Tufts University for the number of finalists hailing from each institution.
These students now have a year to accept and commence an appointment as a Presidential Management Fellow in American government.
Congratulations to our Class of 2016 PMF finalists!
