Resources
We have many resources available to help students make great applications to all employers throughout the year. For example, our How to write CVs and cover letters and How to complete application forms guides (available online and in our Resource Centre) are a great starting point. We’ve also updated our bank of CV and cover letter examples which are drawn from LSE students and alumni.

Online
There’s also a wealth of advice and information on our website and this blog – whether you want to know how long your CV should be, reasons for tailoring your CV, about alternative CV formats, or want tips on completing application forms. Once you have a finished draft, book an appointment with one of our careers consultants for feedback before you submit.
Term-time seminars
Our careers consultants also run seminars each week throughout the year on writing effective CVs, cover letters and application forms which you can view and book on CareerHub. These are spread throughout the day so you should be able to find a time to suit your timetable. We also run specialist CV and cover letter seminars (for jobs within and outside academia) for PhD students and experienced hires so look out for those on CareerHub too.
If you can’t attend the seminars, you can also book in for a one-to-one CV or cover letter discussion in person all year round (we’re based on Floor 5 of the Saw Swee Hock Student Centre).
Most of the general advice on CVs and applications will be suitable for applications to the larger graduate programmes. However you can get more specialised and sector-specific advice on our website, and at employer-led seminars and careers breakfasts which you can also view and book on CareerHub.
