The London School of Economics is a member of RISE– Raising the Impact of the Socio-Economic sciences; a European network of 8 higher education institutions which aim increase the impact of the social sciences and economics on social problems, particularly in Europe.
RISE is organized around six key with research themes: Governance, regulation and policy-making; business development strategies and regulation; sustainability and diversity in the European Union; demographic challenges; income equality and labour markets; and sustainable development. These areas of research will inform two major projects. The first aims to establish a strategy to raise the profile of the social sciences with the political and policy community, the corporate sector and with the European public, while the second aims to influence national and supranational research agendas.
