The EU is pursuing closer trade and investment cooperation with Japan, which is already a significant trading partner. The two parties are currently negotiating a free trade agreement and the European Commission has commissioned LSE Enterprise to conduct a Trade Sustainability Impact Assessment to feed into these discussions. The study will assess the potential economic, social and environmental effects resulting from the trade and trade-related provisions of the agreement in the EU, Japan and other countries.
The project team will undertake a sectoral analysis in order to explore the economic, environmental and social impacts, cross-sectoral issues and the impact on competitiveness of an agreement. To have your say in which sectors should be analysed, take part in the sector selection survey, open until 31 March 2015.
