UEM 2015

The 25 students from the Global Dimensions Programme are currently under taking a 12-week internship in London.

Marta Hernández, Pedro Belda and XiaoJing Ye give us the lowdown on their internship and their experiences.

The internship has been a very good opportunity for me to learn! From the first day I had the feeling that I am part of the team. I try to do my best helping all my colleagues and they try to teach me new things every day. I am really happy doing my internship at Radisson Blu Edwardian Hotels!!’ Marta Hernández

I am really happy with my internship; I am getting so much knowledge not only from the London workplace environment but also from the company I am working in. I have been involved in the everyday business, working and interacting with the rest of the team. Although based in the HR & Marketing Department, my work has allowed me to interact with the other departments and to work with all the various people in different roles. I was introduced to the whole team on my first day and everyone has been really nice and supportive towards me, so it is very easy to fit in and to really feel like part of the VHR team.‘ Pedro Belda

My main job is a Project Manager of WAFA (Women in Arab Financial Association). As I am managing a network which is going to be launched on November under the patronage of Queen of Bahrain, I feel a huge responsibility. I have to be in contact with directors or chairmen in different companies, as well as ambassadors of different countries and so I have to be really careful with my expressions, so at the same time I am improving my English level a lot.’ XiaoJing Ye

If you have been following our previous posts, you may remember meeting some of the students back in January and February.
