Basque participants at LSE 2015

This year, eight participants attended an annual eleven-week LSE custom programme titled run by LSE Enterprise for the Diputación Foral de Bizkaia. The programme focused on European political economy and finance and consisted of a range of lectures, private seminars from leading LSE academics, finance workshops and external visits.

A few of the participants share their thoughts below:

The London School of Economics is an incredible institution with excellent academics and hard-working students. We have learned a lot over these months and we also had time to enjoy our stay in London. They have stimulated us to think about the European Union economic and political issues and changed the way we think about the world. The programme is great in every way!  Jon Iturrioz Karkokli

We have been more than welcome to join the LSE’s lifestyle as students and also like intellectuals where our opinion counts. Moreover, we have attended events with Dr Bernanke and the Prime Minister of Luxemburg among others; we have visited interesting organisations such as the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, UKTI and the  Supreme Court of Justice which in the end helps to broaden our minds and have a better perspective of the world we live in.  Rocío Larrea Basterra

Having the chance to study this term at the LSE has been a really intense and enriching experience. The European Political and Finance course covers several topics analysing the European institutions, policies and the relationship between the EU and international actors. The atmosphere at the LSE is highly dynamic and academic discussion is the basis of the education. I have always been interested in politics both at national and European levels and I have very much enjoyed participating in the seminars and sharing opinions with my colleagues and professors. Also living in central London and exploring the city further than in a short visit has been amazing! Thank you so much to the LSE and the Diputación Foral de Bizkaia for this unforgettable opportunity.  Irati Oleaga
