UK Trade and Industry (UKTI)’s international trade advisors work with UK-based clients to help export and grow their businesses internationally. UKTI approached LSE Enterprise to provide a masterclass on the current global outlook. The two-day sessions held for over 80 participants this March gave geo-political insights and business tools to enhance the advisors’ expertise.
Seminar discussions were held on the future of the Middle East, global economic developments, global trade issues, the European reform agenda, and global technological and scientific discoveries. The seminars were taught by academics experienced in advising government regulators, international companies and politicians. Each class was twinned with a challenging breakout session involving risk assessment and case studies.
The programme has taken us out of our day-to-day work and given us the bigger picture, an understanding of the greater sociopolitical movements underpinning international trade. This is invaluable when talking to clients in London.
