In collaboration with the Fundación Rafael del Pino, the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) is offering the chance for 25 young Spanish academics to experience the best of LSE’s world-class teaching and research. Fully funded accommodation and tuition for this four-day intensive Empirics of Management Programme are offered on merit by a selection committee.

Participants will:

  • Access the LSE library and IT networks whilst studying at LSE’s central London location
  • Take new knowledge back to Spain – multiply the impact of the training and experience
  • Develop academic leadership skills
  • Receive a Certificate of Achievement from LSE

From 5 – 9 September 2016 the participants will add to their already strong knowledge of economics, finance or social science and undertake English-language study sessions in topics such as:

  • Firm capabilities and market structure
  • Corporate governance
  • Technology, globalisation and beyond
  • Social interactions in organisations
  • Advance qualitative research methods in management
  • Measuring impact of management on firm performance
  • Information technology, productivity and the organisation of firms
  • Role and effects of top executives in corporations

Applications should include a curriculum vitae (in English, including overall grades for academic study) and a personal statement, in English, on why you want to attend the programme (maximum 400 words)

Fundación Rafael del Pino generously covers tuition and accommodation for five nights in London during the programme. However, flights and meals are not included and are the responsibility of the participant. An application fee of 300 euros is payable directly to the Fundación Rafael del Pino for applicants who successfully receive a place on the programme. Places are limited to 25 participants. Successful candidates will be offered a place on merit by a Selection Committee consisting of representatives of LSE and Fundación Rafael del Pino.
