LSE Custom Programmes welcomed 42 undergraduate students from the Spanish Instituto Estudios Bursátiles (IEB) this month by hosting a welcome reception on the top floor of the New Academic Building on LSE campus. The students are in their final year of study at the IEB (or recent IEB graduates) and are in London for 12 weeks attending a customised education programme on global business and finance. The students were welcomed by LSE Enterprise’s Chief Executive Officer, Mr Simon Flemington, and the IEB’s Director of Studies, Ms Ana Moreno Giraldo.
The students will be attending lectures on topics such as foreign exchange, portfolio and risk management, as well as business ethics among others. During their stay in London, and as part of their academic development, the students are expected to attend a number of LSE’s public lectures, where some of the most influential figures in the social sciences can be heard. In addition, the students will attend various external visits to organisations located in London gaining insights into practical aspects of the business and finance sectors. Awarded grades from exams taken over their 12 week stay at LSE act as credits towards the students’ degree at the IEB.
