As the latest cohort of Basque students settle into the 10-week European Political Economy and Finance executive education programme, two students explain a little bit about themselves and why they chose the programme:
Nerea Herreras Omagogeascoa
My name is Nerea, I am 26 and I come from the Basque Country. I first heard about this programme two years ago, and from the first minute I knew that I wanted to be part of it someday, and here I am!
I´m a Mechanical Engineer, so every lecture is new to me. However, I´m really looking forward to understanding how the EU and all the related institutions work, especially learning everything I can from the Finance Workshop.
I have always wanted to live in London and I think that this is one of the best opportunities I could have had.
Miriam Arrechea Beristain
I come from a small city on the coast of Biscay, and what I love the most from my region are the people and the food. These are the main reasons why I decided to come to the London School of Economics and Political Science. Having had the opportunity to travel a bit, I have appreciated how a mixture of cultures can have a very positive effect in all fields, including food.
During our first week, we have had the chance to see how these cultural dialogues take place, not only horizontally, but also vertically and diagonally. We are learning how to construct better answers, but also better questions.
I am completely certain this programme will keep us fed and with further hunger for the future.
