  • Job Title: Delivery Programme Team Assistant
  • Duration:  Six months, full-time contract
  • Salary: £22,000 pro-rata
  • Work Location: LSE Enterprise, London WC2
  • Reporting to: Programme Officer and the Director of Programme Delivery

LSE Enterprise is the commercial arm of the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE).  We provide a professional service for clients seeking consultancy services and custom education programmes based on the considerable expertise of LSE Academics.  This encompasses project management, contract and financial negotiation, marketing and administrative support for individual LSE Academics, departments, groups and centres.

The role:

Taking instruction from the Programme Officer, the Delivery Programme Projects Assistant will support the successful delivery of the Global Dimensions Programme between January and July 2017. The Global Dimensions Programme is a six-month programme that will welcome 90 undergraduate students from the Laureate group of universities. Tasks will include:

  • Providing support in the run up and during the programme delivery to ensure the smooth running of the programme components
  • Supporting faculty in delivering their sessions, which may involve setting up the teaching room and checking teaching equipment, monitoring and recording student attendance and preparing programme-related documentation
  • Providing a range of support to participants during the programme, such as answering basic programme-related queries, collating participant academic assignments and recording academic assessment grades
  • Assisting with group events and visits: including attending external visits with programme participants, supporting the organisation of formal programme events (programme inductions, opening and closing ceremonies), as well as social events
  • Ensuring project documentation is kept up to date, including general filing and collating and inputting evaluation forms.

The post holder will also be required to provide general assistance to other members of the Programme Delivery team working on a range of projects and will take instruction on such additional tasks from the Director of Programme Delivery.  Programme delivery support tasks will include many of the tasks listed above and additionally:

Providing logistical assistance with a range of custom programmes:

  • Arranging programme schedules, liaising with programme faculty
  • Arranging travel and accommodation, issuing visa/confirmation letters
  • Securing venues and arranging catering
  • Arranging IT, Library & Campus access for programme participants.

Collating and inputting feedback forms for a range programmes and assisting with final programme reporting

Providing pastoral care for participants before and during the programme and liaising with clients on logistics, where necessary

Providing assistance with the production of custom programme teaching materials, including:

  • Designing slide templates, reviewing, proof-reading and formatting academic materials, uploading materials onto Moodle programme pages
  • Organising certificates, group photos and end of programme videos for each programme

Providing assistance with finance-related tasks:

  • Updating project budgets, processing invoices and expense forms, raising client invoices and drafting salary request forms for custom programme faculty
  • Providing support with programme marketing: updating Social Media and programme websites; assist sending mailings for open events.

 Person specification:

  • Excellent customer service skills with a focus on client satisfaction
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple and varied tasks with enthusiasm and prioritise workload with strong attention to detail
  • Able to demonstrate initiative and self-confidence; adaptable and able to cope effectively with changing and evolving priorities
  • Able to work methodically in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment
  • Excellent skills in MS Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and a good working knowledge of Excel
  • Experience of working with people from different cultures.
