IEB participants on their last day at LSE

On a sunny day in August this year, LSE welcomed 42 undergraduate students from the Instituto Estudios Bursátiles (IEB). They began their time in London with a welcome reception hosted by LSE Enterprise’s Chief Executive Officer, Mr Simon Flemington, and the IEB’s Director of Studies, Ms Ana Moreno Giraldo. As the weather turns, and after 12 weeks of hard work, the global business and finance students have returned to Spain with their well-earned certificates of attendance.

I think it’s a really good theoretical and practical mix, we’ve all learned a lot. The teachers have prepared us well for the kind of high-level discussions we will be having in the future. The course was stressful at times, but I’m very happy to have been here. Grazziella, IEB student

These final-year undergraduate students have had a lot packed in to the last three months. The LSE Custom Programme has been based around seven core modules, and has included assessments, visits, individual study and extracurricular events. Awarded grades act as credits towards the students’ degree at the IEB.

After a week studying Financial English at the London School of English, the students went on to learn about Foreign Exchange Markets, Derivatives, Portfolio Management, Investment Institutions, Risk Management and Ethics in Financial Management.

With access to the LSE library, LSE Careers and LSE public lectures, students were able to take advantage of all that LSE, and London, has to offer.

The university is not of London but of the world – I’ve met people from Ghana, Pakistan, Belize, all over. Everyone is enthusiastic and ambitious. Esther, IEB student
