Me, SADL and the indispensable tools

Over the course of the three years of my undergraduate life at LSE, few things have characteristically stayed constant. Course have changed, career paths have swayed and well let’s not even comment about London weather. But in the great turbulence of times and tides, from the wide eyed days of first year to the more cynical chasm of the […]

Holiday chat and map making!

Last week we had the official summer break. We celebrated the end of the year with a light lunch, plenty of chats about exams, graduations and holidays. Procrastination locked out!

Hello readers!
If you are like me or to be more precise, like most average student who owns a smartphone, then I can bet that the first thing you do when you wake up is that you check your phone.Doing so, and with the amount of distractions at the tip of your fingers, it is easy to find yourself engrossed […]

How SADL got me hired

Securing a job after graduation is something that matters to a great extent to most of students I have met during my time at LSE. Some start their search as early as in their first year of undergraduate studies. Applying for jobs feels like taking up an extra course just because of the commitment, amount of discipline and organisation […]

Group project – How can we improve learning spaces at LSE? (virtual and physical)

Last week SADL met for the first time after the Christmas break and led by the Seniors, they discussed the following three questions:

How can we improve learning spaces at LSE – both virtual and physical?
How can we improve assessment and feedback at LSE and what role does technology play?
How can students provide peer support for each other?

Here’s what George […]

Challenge Accepted

The Digital Challenge at first involved finding the right apps and techniques to adapt to note taking without traditional tools.
Very soon, I  had a set of tools to deal with different tasks. And got used to them enough to not restrict their use to the course I had initially chosen.

Google Calendar
Instead of having a handwritten timetable for my classes, […]

As part of the Evaluation and Impact study of SADL, we asked our Ambassdaors and Senior Ambassadors to tell us what the most important thing they had learned from being part of this programme. You can listen to our students tell you.

Of Time, Reading and Academic Life: SADL Workshop 2 Reflections by Chloe Tan

All ambassadors present chimed in resonance with the issue highlighted in the second workshop related to productivity and time management as a student. The endless pile of workload looming at the back of our minds remains as a grim reminder of the substance of inefficiency and incapability we’re made of. The impostor syndrome hovers about as we play mind […]

Apps – Managing tasks with Wunderlist by Noor-Ul-Hussain Khawaja

Today I am going to review an app that was highlighted in SADL Workshop 2 — Wunderlist. Wunderlist is a productivity tool that allows you to manage your tasks.
