usc-campus.jpgHere at USC the breakout sessions mean a less cohesive dialogue but lots of good models and case studies.

How about a blog/website that allows the world to talk about big issues in their own languages, but instantly translated? Try Pangea Day powered by the fantastic translation tool dotsub.

How about a public service radio brodcaster with a website that allows people to upload stories that are then rebroadcast on radio. Try vocalo.org It is still hosted by radio people but it is deliberately free form seeking dialogue through citizen producer serendipity. Subjects in a typical segment (they have music too):

  • I Treat Him As Though He Didn’t Have It-About Face Youth Theater, as part of an intergenerational dialogue about HIV and AIDS
  • Chicago White Sox Baseball Audio Collage
  • Second Half of Being a Single Parent (Excerpt pt.1)
