This event brings together James Tartaglia and Andrew Bowie, both professional philosophers and jazz saxophonists. They will be joined by jazz drummer Mark Doffman, whose interests also lie in the intersection between philosophy and music, to discuss the role that musical performance can play in conveying philosophical ideas. Sonja Morgenstern, a member of the pioneering jazz-philosophy fusion band, Continuum of Selves, and leading jazz musician Mark Hodgson, will join proceedings for some live performances of the kind of music and philosophy under discussion.
