Run Whilst Others Walk is a charity run/walk which will be held at Lincoln’s Inn Field on Sunday March 4 and will raise money for the LSE African Initiative.

The inaugural lecture of LSE’s Professor of African Development, Thandika Mkandawire in 2009 was entitled “Running While Others Walk: Knowledge and the Challenge of Africa’s Development”.

The title of that lecture has proved an inspiration for an entirely different kind of event. Run Whilst Others Walk, an LSE Community Festival and a charity walk/run, will give participants the choice of either running or walking around the perimeter of Lincoln’s Inn Fields which is roughly 750 metres. The participants can choose how many laps they wish to complete. Alongside the run/walk, there will be stalls around the campus and events taking place throughout the day, showcasing the talent and diversity among the LSE student body.

All the proceeds from this event will go towards the LSE African Initiative, a long-term programme designed to reinvigorate African research within the School and to put issues within the continent in the global spotlight.

Run Whilst Others Walk is open to all, please register on the website.
