If you thought the awards season had ended with the Oscars, you should think again. Now in its ninth year, the Diageo Africa Business Reporting Awards will be held in London in June and they are currently calling for submissions.
These awards were initiated by Diageo, the world”s leading premium drinks business in 2004 to celebrate journalists and editors who deliver top quality reporting on the African business environment.
“Business interest in Africa has clearly accelerated as the world focuses on the continent’s impressive growth prospects,” Nick Blazquez, President of Diageo Africa said.
“As a company that operates right across Africa, we at Diageo understand the increasingly important role business journalism has in creating the right environment to operate successfully and to attract long-term investment.”
There are ten categories in the awards including Journalist of the Year and Best Newcomer, won last year by The Africa Report’s Nicholas Norbrook and Cynthia Nyamai of KTN.
If you fancy your chances this year, you must make your submissions online by Friday 23rd March. There is no entry fee.
