How to make the most of LSE Careers if you’re not in London

If you’re not in London this summer there are still a lot of ways you can use LSE Careers to maximise your employability:

1. Take a break

You’ve worked hard this year and taking some time to rest will only benefit you going forward. A break is a great time to reflect and recover so that you can return focused and re-energised.

To make it easier for you to keep up to date with us, this blog page is updated regularly with the latest news, events, and career insights from our consultants and guest bloggers including alumni and employers, and we’re also on Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn.

2. Use our online resources to update your CV

Whether you’re updating your CV for a graduate role, internship, or a part-time job for the spring LSE Careers has a lot of online resources to help you. If you’ve attended any of our Careers Fairs, employer events, or Meet an Alum events during the term you might also want to take this time to read up on speculative applications and follow up on some of the contacts you may have made.

3. Watch some of the careers seminars

If you didn’t make it to our core programme career seminars, take some time to watch the videos of our most popular presentations. Just click through the links and log-in with your LSE username and password.

4. Practice makes perfect

No one has ever complained about having too much practice for an upcoming interview, and we have a lot of online resources to help you succeed in your next interview. Use your exclusive access to Interview Stream to record yourself answering questions, or log into Vault’s company profiles to do that extra bit of research on the organisation you are interviewing with.

5. Browse graduate profiles

Get inspired by reading our graduate profiles and learning about all the different career paths recent LSE graduates have taken. Take some time to explore what alumni in different programmes have gone on to do and maybe find some new opportunities in your field.

6. Reflect and plan

Take some time to think about what skills and experience you want to develop for your future career. There are lots of different opportunities on CareerHub right now, including voluntary ones, if you want to have a look at the type of roles that are available for when you’re ready to apply.

Appointments

If you’re not able to book a face-to-face appointment or practice interview, email us at careers@lse.ac.uk so we can set something up for you via telephone or Skype.

We hope to speak to you soon!
