We hope you’ve all had a wonderful and restful break, and are ready for an exciting and entrepreneurial Lent Term! Generate’s programme this term focuses on social innovation, and we have some really thrilling events coming up. If you’re interested in enterprise, have a look below for a taster of some of our upcoming events.

January 9th & 10th – Mentoring Days with Julien Callede, LSE Entrepreneur-in-Residence

We’ll be running the first-ever mentoring sessions with our Entrepreneur-in-Residence, Julien Callede, co-founder of MADE.com. You’ll have the opportunity to ask Julien any questions you might have about your own venture or startup idea. Don’t fear if you missed out – you can email Julien on lsegenerate.ent.in.res@gmail.com.

January 12th – New Year Workout with Social Enterprise The Hard Yard

The Hard Yard organises workout sessions run by ex-offenders, so come join LSE Generate as we put on this special event, and be prepared for a tough workout!

January 16th – Breakfast Epiphanies with LSE alum and FLO co-founder Tara Chandra

Breakfast epiphanies are meetings where students can hear from inspirational social entrepreneurs talk about their impactful and innovative career paths over croissants and coffee. This breakfast is with co-founder of FLO (organic tampons) and LSE alum Tara Chandra, come along hear her discuss her entrepreneurial journey and her reasons for working in a business with social impact.

Friday 19th January – ISVAT Tier 1 Briefing

If you’re interested in learning more about the Tier 1 GE Visa Generate has organised this lecture to answer any questions you might have. The talk will cover the route you need to take to gain an endorsement, as well as the visa process.

Monday 22nd January – Deloitte Digital: Routes into a technology career

The presentation is for students interested in a career in the technology sector. Students can expect to meet people from Deloitte working in a variety of technology roles and discover more about what they do and the opportunities there.

Friday 26th January – Deadline for Initial Round of Generate Funding Competition

Our funding competition deadline for initial applications! If you have a venture idea or an early-stage startup, you can apply for our competition with a chance to win up to £10k and a mentoring package! This is also the route through which you can apply for a Tier 1 GE Visa Endorsement.

Wednesday 31st January – Generate Social Enterprise Case Study with GSEN

This term we’ll be running a number of social enterprise case studies to help inform and educate students who are interested in starting their own social venture. Our first of the term comes from Peter Ptashko from GSEN, an organisation which works to support social enterprises through their network.

We’re really looking forward to seeing you at our events this term! You can find out about our other events in the programme here, and stay tuned for what’s coming up in February.
