In memory of Majid Fayaz (1979-2025)

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of our dear colleague Majid Fayaz, at the age of 46. Majid was a valued member of our LSE Security Team, known for his dedication, kindness, and unwavering commitment to keeping our workplace safe.

Beyond his role at work, Majid was a devoted husband and a loving father to his two young children. Our thoughts and deepest sympathies go out to his family during this incredibly difficult time. As colleagues, we mourn his loss, but we also remember the kindness, dedication, and quiet strength that defined his time with us.

In honour of Majid’s memory, we encourage staff to share their condolences here and support his family. May he rest in peace, knowing he made a lasting impact on those around him.

  1. Very sad to hear of Majid’s passing. Although I have been a member of the LSE community for just over 5 years now I still sometimes get lost on campus or fail to remember where certain rooms are. Just last term Majid guided me to a room in a building I happened to miss while walking hurriedly on campus and, while accompanying me to the room, Majid made a joke about the fact that I had missed the room despite having walked past it. It was a funny moment that seemed insignificant but his decision to walk with me to find the room showed how dedicated he was to making LSE a warm, safe and accessible environment for staff, students and visitors. May his soul rest in peace.

  2. My deepest condolences to his family and loved ones. As a student, I will always remember him as a kind and warm presence on campus. He brought joy to our community with his kindness and dedication, always making us feel safe and welcome. He will be deeply missed.
