Date: Monday, 7 March,
Time: 18:00 – 19:30
Venue: London School of Economics, Old building, Room 4.10 (4th floor)

Chaired and introduced by:
Professor Simon Hix (London School of Economics)
Professor Adam Fagan (Queen Mary University of London)

Awni al-Mashni and Meron Rapoport, founding members of the One Homeland Two States movement, offer a fresh vision for the future of Israel – Palestine.

The One Homeland vision recognizes the deep historical, religious and cultural attachment of both Jews and Palestinians to the entire land of Eretz Israel / Palestine.

While the right of self-determination will be fulfilled through the states of Israel and Palestine, two sovereign entities on the 1967 borders, citizens of both states will enjoy freedom of movement and residence across the land, with Jerusalem as a shared, rather than divided, capital.

Fifty years of occupation have created a de facto apartheid, and walls of separation that entrench hatred. The One Homeland vision offers a way forward, and tackles the core issues of the conflict – the Right of Return, Jerusalem, and the West Bank settlements.

Awni al-Mashni from Bethlehem is a member of the Fatah advisory committee and a former prisoner.  Meron Rapoport is an award-winning journalist based in Tel Aviv, currently writing for Middle East Eye.

Admission is free, but spaces may be limited. Please confirm your attendance by registering with y.rapoport@qmul.ac.uk
