Nick Clegg (@nick_clegg) was Leader of the Liberal Democrats for eight years from 2007 and Deputy Prime Minister from 2010 to 2015. He has been the Liberal Democrat MP for Sheffield Hallam since 2005, and was previously MEP for the East Midlands.

Simon Hix (@simonjhix) is Harold Laski Professor in Political Science in the Department of Government and Senior Fellow on the ESRC’s UK in a Changing Europe programme.
