It is possible for scammers to use your CV to steal your identity.
On CVs, there is typically a lot of information and personal details. Always be careful of uploading your CVs to sites, or sending it to someone who you don’t know. Make sure you only share your CV with a reputable company, or someone you trust.
Don’t include details such as your date of birth, national insurance number or any financial details. The more information on your CV, the more opportunity a fraudster has to steal your identity.
When someone contacts you about a job offer, check to see if it’s legitimate. If the salary sounds unrealistically high, there is no personal contact, you receive emails full of spelling and grammar mistakes and are asked directly for bank details, it may be a scam.
