LSE London’s evaluation of Good Home Lincs
February 2025
LSE London has been commissioned by The Centre for Ageing Better to evaluate the Good Home Lincs project, which was launched in 2024 and is run by the Lincolnshire Good Homes Alliance. The GHL project will run until autumn 2026, with the evaluation running concurrently.
What Good Home Lincs aims to do:
Good Home Lincs brings together several services to test a new approach to improving the quality of residents’ homes. It aims to create a one-stop shop for advice on home improvements, improving residents’ confidence and ability to make changes to their homes.
The pilot has two main strands. The first is an online information and signposting service that gives users guidance on maintaining and improving their homes. It includes a Healthy Homes Assessment tool that helps residents evaluate their properties, identify potential issues, and access relevant support and information. This online tool is available to anyone, whether they live in Lincolnshire or not.
The second strand is a personalised advice service. Three dedicated caseworkers have been appointed to offer individual support to Lincolnshire residents. They help identify and implement home improvements for homeowners who have been referred through partner organisations.
LSE’s evaluation
Our evaluation aims to answer three main types of question:
- IMPACT Did the project achieve its goals? What outcomes were produced?
- PROCESS: How were the processes and activities implemented? How effective were they?
- COST-BENEFIT: What did the project cost, and what was the value of the benefits it generated? Who bore the costs and who benefited?
Our methodology includes interviews and focus groups with project staff and clients, as well as visits to residents’ homes. We will survey website users and caseworker clients, and collect and analyse project-related data shared by GHL.
