LSE London welcomes Dr Montserrat Pareja Eastaway as a visiting scholar from the University of Barcelona where she holds the post of Associate Professor of the Department of Economics.

Since 1992, Professor Pareja-Eastaway devotes her research to the analysis of urban problems, specifically its impact on social, cultural, and economic aspects. Multidisciplinary and comparative analyses are constant in her career together with her participation in professional projects in collaboration with public and/or private bodies, beyond academic research.

Since 2000 Montserrat Pareja-Eastaway is a member of the Coordination Committee of the European Network for Housing and Urban Research (ENHR). Since 2010 she was elected Vice-Chair of this network. In 2000, she created the working group ‘Housing and Urban Sustainability’ and is its coordinator until today.

In 2016, she received a scholarship from the Spanish Ministry of Education to research on collaborative economy and housing at the London School of Economics together with prof. Christine Whitehead and prof. Kath Scanlon from April 2017 to July 2017.

Dr Pareja-Eastaway will be working with us on our ongoing research projects, especially in our Alternative Housing research strand. We look forward to Dr Pareja-Eastaway’s contributions. You can read her blog post entry about her experience doing ‘fieldwork’ with this group here.
