The scale of the housing supply crisis in London tells us that what we are doing is not working. It is not good enough. And that we have to look at new ways of working. In this film, we explore a unique and innovative housing scheme in Ladywell, Lewisham, offering modular construction as one of many possible ways. These new modular construction methods go by many names, they’re called micropods, prefabs, or manufactured homes, or offsite construction. There are various examples of this in different countries and cities around the world. We want to look at this new construction in Lewisham in a deeper way to see the challenges and advantages of this particular scheme.
