Jane Secker is the LSE’s copyright and digital literacy advisor who advises staff on using digital resources within Moodle such as images, full text readings and linking to electronic journals. She is also the School’s specialist on digital copyright, offering advice and training to staff on a range of library and copyright issues. She coordinates the digital literacy workshops for staff and is interested in how staff and students use technology in their teaching, research and learning. Jane is keen to find out how best LSE can support students and equip them with lifelong learning skills to succeed in their studies at LSE and in their professional and personal lives .

Maria is the Learning Support Services Manager leading on the development of the Library’s learning support and training services. She is also Academic Support Librarian for the Department of Law and the European Institute.

Maria is responsible for the Library’s information literacy teaching programmes providing learning support and teaching information and digital literacy skills to students of all levels to enable them to make the most of the extensive collections, research materials and information for academic research. Maria is keen to hear from students about how these skills might help then in their studies and future careers.

Ellen is the Academic Support Librarian for International Development, Social Policy and Sociology. She is also currently responsible for selecting UK government materials and English language material from Asia, Africa and mainland Europe. Ellen delivers a range of teaching, both for the departments she liaises with and as part of the general training programme. This training is mainly for postgraduates and she is keen to find out what digital skills undergraduates already have and what they would like help with.

Andra is Ellen’s maternity cover. She is the Academic Support Librarian for International Development, Social Policy and Sociology. She is also responsible for selecting English language material from Asia, Africa and mainland Europe. Andra delivers a range of teaching, both for the departments she liaises with and as part of the general training programme. She is keen to learn about the level of digital literacy skills students join the university with and how much that changes during their studies.

Clive Wilson

Clive’s first degree is in Accounting and Finance from Lancaster University and he spent 18 months with one of the big accounting firms before making a career change. Following his MA in Information Studies he joined Thames Valley University as subject librarian for Accounting, Finance and Economics where he gained a PgCert in Teaching and Learning before joining the Library in 1999.

As well as his academic support responsibilities, Clive is responsible for the Library’s Enquiry Services.  He is also responsible for the Library’s United States Government and African collections – he is a committee member of SCOLMA – and responsible for the Library website.

Claudine Provencher is an educational developer with the LSE Teaching and Learning Centre with specific responsibilities for the provision and delivery of study skills to students around the School. In this role, she has become particularly aware of the need to understand in greater detail how technology can be harnessed so that students can make the most of their time at LSE. Her participation in the SADL project will also enable her to assist better the increasing number of academics at LSE who are keen to help their students develop their digital literacy skills.

Sonia is the Learning Support Library Assistant and provides administrative support to the SADL and to LSE’s Library Information Skills programmes.
She has transferred from LSE Archives and Special Collections where she worked closely with collections such as The Women’s Library and the Hall-Carpenter Archives.

Sonia has a librarianship qualification and is interested in Information Literacy as well as in Active Learning as means to better support students.

Jon is the LSE Students Union Education Officer for 2015-2016. He was elected in March 2015 and has just graduated from LSE in Government and History. Jon’s role is to represent students on educational matters and work with the School to improve students’ academic experience with regards to teaching and learning, assessment and feedback, academic advisers and a whole host of other things.
