The Leveson Inquiry continues to attract attention from both the mainstream press and online. The following is a recommended selection of some of the most useful and active blogs on the subject:
Charles Lavery Media Matters
Charles Lavery, an ex-tabloid journalist, is an independent investigative journalist from Glasgow, Scotland. Lavery also advises on media and crisis handling with his team of journalists, lawyers, and security experts.
Committee to Protect Journalists
Committee to Protect Journalists is an online forum with a mission to communicate the importance of journalist protection. CPJ advocates awareness of human rights violations around the world.

Digital Journal
Digital Journal is a global digital network, based in Canada, comprised of professional and citizen journalists, bloggers, photographers and freelancers. DJ’s mission includes “developing the social news network . . . [and] consult[ing] news organizations on how to empower their audience to acquire content, drive revenue and increase engagement from their digital media properties.”
Digital Spy
Digital Spy is an independent entertainment website in the UK. The site’s media blog is concerned with the latest news in the television broadcasting and telecommunications industry.
Guardian News Blog
The Guardian is a British newspaper edited by Alan Rusbridger, who has made statements at the Leveson Inquiry seminars and been a consistent attendee at the Leveson Inquiry sessions.
Hacked Off
“Hacked Off is a campaign founded in support of a public inquiry into illegal information-gathering by the press and related matters” (including the conduct of the police, politicians and mobile phone companies). Hacked Off argued “only a full public inquiry could put the truth of the hacking scandal before the public and ensure that necessary lessons were learned.” Hugh Grant is one of a number of public figures supporting the campaign.
The Huffington Post’s UK division has been closely following the Leveson Inquiry since it began.
Index on Censorship Free Speech Blog
Index on Censorship is a British organization in support and defence of the basic human right of freedom of expression. The organization is led by a group of journalists, writers, and artists.
Inforrm
The International Forum for Responsible Media (Inforrm) is a forum for debate on media responsibility with the following mission statement: “The media’s right to freedom of expression must be properly balanced against the rights to privacy and reputation which are an essential part of human dignity.”
New Statesman
New Statesmen is a weekly current affairs publication and has hosted blogs on Leveson
Politicus
Politicus compiles a variety of individual blogs and has several related to the Leveson Inquiry directly and corollary media issues.
