Both of our measures change today, but only to settle back to where they were at the beginning of the week. Our polling measure has a five percent gap once again (down from 7 per cent on Tuesday) between Labour and the Tories, with them on 32 and 37 per cent respectively. No changes here for the Lib Dems or the Other parties. The BBC takes Tuesday’s YouGov poll as its most recent measure which is the same as our current one, save for the Lib Dems having 19 per cent and Other parties 12 per cent.

Since our last State of the Race post, we’ve seen Tuesday’s Angus Reid poll, which puts the Conservatives higher at 39 per cent than they have recently otherwise been, but more surprisingly, put Labour on 26 per cent; a 13 per cent gap little wonder that it was given extensive coverage on Conservative Home on Wednesday. 26 per cent support for Labour is far lowert than any of our measures have recently put the party – this is a ‘rogue’ poll, and unless the trend for Labour begins to go south in a big way, can probably be discounted.
