In this video hosted by the LSE Faith Centre, Sir Thomas Hughes-Hallett, Chair and Co-Founder of the Marshall Institute for Philanthropy and Social Entrepreneurship, interviews Dr Georgette Bennett, Founder of the Multifaith Alliance for Syrian Refugees.
In the video, Dr Bennett speaks about her new book, Thou Shalt Not Stand Idly By, in which she discusses how presumed adversaries in the Syrian conflict – Syrians and Israelis, Jews and Muslims – powerfully came together to alleviate suffering. Through efforts such as these, Dr Bennett explains the impact that humanitarian diplomacy can have on conflict zones and how it can prevent extremist ideologies from taking hold.
