Religion and Global Society invites you to be part of a new interdisciplinary network for PhD students and early career researchers working on religion that we’re running in conjunction with the blog. Through this network, PhD students and early career researchers at LSE whose work relates to religion (however tangentially) will have the opportunity to meet with one another and to learn about each other’s work. In due course we will invite guest speakers and there will also be opportunities to present your own research to peers.
Details for the inaugural Religion Scholars Network meeting:
Date: Tuesday 27 November
Time: 4pm-5pm
Location: 32 Lincoln’s Inn Fields, room 32L.B.01
To provide some background on our engagement with religion-related research, Dr James Walters, Director of the Faith Centre, will begin by talking a little bit about the recent Religion and the Public Sphere project at LSE and the book that came out of it. We will then have an open discussion about the network, the format and frequency of the meetings and what you as its participants would like to get out of it. We are keen to ensure that this network is a success, and as enjoyable and worthwhile as possible for those involved. Light refreshments will be provided.
To get an idea of the numbers please let me know if you would like to attend our first meeting on 27 November. My email is d.g.coyne@lse.ac.uk.
Feel free to forward this email on to anyone else within the School who may be interested. If you have any questions please get in touch.
Regards,
