Humans are creatures who roam about the globe’s surface with a surprising degree of adaptability to multiple situations. It is the very essence of its trait to morph, shape and evolve into a different form more well-suited for the environment which compels it to yield to. Such is the case when a certain Malaysian hops off to a certain institution in order to seek guidance (and enlightenment) in the arts of the law, diving into the antithesis of placidity and submerged anxiety misinterpreted as enthusiasm. Perhaps it was a coincidental arrangement, predetermined fate or subconscious attraction, but there was no concrete rhyme or reason to align the student with this purportedly famed establishment. For the most part, intuition and the length of its name was probably it. In a more presentable context, it would have been generic answers drawn from a bin of collaborative contribution. After all, this is a tale of another mere human.

Solitude absent of the company of the familiar is an experience which had only been retained in their mind before, now manifesting into the reality of luggage and items strewn about. The chaotic mess and frantic last-minute purchases predicted all fizzled out with an unexpected calmness. Experiences recognized to reside beyond the powers of visualization only linger as a subdued taste of peculiar preparedness, especially with the aid of aunts who offer items that may have been overlooked amidst the unnatural state of detachment.

While dragging bags filled with questionably necessary objects, the mental pressure of unease ebbed and flowed with the encounters ranging from culture shock laced with whiffs of alcohol to the free reign to explore a foreign city and the alien self. Lecturers danced and pranced onstage to deliver the educational value of their respective performance, instilling the impression of an art which implores personal critical interpretation unlike the previous “spoon-feeding” methods mostly employed. The common buzzword which hung over silently in the air was “daunting”, but yet the biological mechanisms of human nature never seems to fail in flaunting its uncanny versatility. Sinking into the pool of humanity, a universal communion fleets across the diverse yet similar student body as they are mere creatures, eager to distinguish and highlight unique identities, while retaining the base traits to connect mutually on a primitive wavelength.
