Are you:

  • in Year 12 at a state school?
  • considering applying to a top university to study a social science?
  • someone who wants to boost their learning and experience – and stand out from the crowd?

If your answers are “Yes” to all the questions above, then you should apply to LSE’s flagship Widening Participation programme LSE CHOICE.

What is it?

  • LSE CHOICE prepares you to go beyond the A level curriculum, debate current affairs and delve deeper into your chosen subject
  • it gives you real experience of being on a university campus before you even apply
  • it boosts your UCAS personal statement – committing to this programme will demonstrate your passion for your subject to help you stand out from the crowd

How does it work?

  • one-week, high-energy Summer School in August with special guest speakers from your subject area
  • 16 Saturday sessions from September to March with passionate teachers
  • at least one subject in action trip
  • graduation ceremony & certificate
  • prizes for 100% attendance

You will also get:

  • the opportunity to sign up for one-to-one support from an LSE admissions specialist – helping you to write a knockout personal statement
  • coaching in how to write a perfect academic essay
  • invitations to exclusive free business lunches and fieldtrips
  • £20 for every Saturday session you attend (that’s £320 in your pocket!)

How much is it?

  • the programme is entirely free of charge
  • all your travel costs for the Summer School are covered
  • we pay you to attend!

How do I apply?

The deadline for receiving applications is Friday 24th March – apply here NOW!

What do students think?

“It helps you realise there’s more to your subject than the textbook.”
“It is an amazing experience to learn and meet new people.”
“It’s an amazing programme that enables you to learn things outside of your curriculum”
“It’s a great opportunity and experience to get to know other people and openly share your ideas about a subject you’re interested in. It also gives you an idea about what university life will be like.”
“It helps you develop a more critical mind”
