London’s coolest bars

I’ve previously written about some of the Instagrammable cafes in London. However, the city is so amazing that it’s not just cafes that are awesome but restaurants, clubs and bars as well. In fact, for someone who enjoys a bit of childlike fun, the number of bars in London that are more like adult playgrounds are a-plenty! Here are some of my favourites!

Ballie Ballerson

Remember that birthday where you grew a bit taller and was no longer allowed into the ball pit in kids’ play areas? Well, you don’t have to feel bad anymore because this bar will allow you to relive that childhood dream. Located in Shoreditch, the bar has 3 ball pits- a pink one, a neon one and a VIP one. Pro tip: To save on entrance, try booking online through DesignMyNight for valuable offers.

Bounce

Want to try your hand at being a ping-pong champion whilst having a drink in hand? Say no more, I present to you Bounce, a ping-pong (table tennis) themed bar. There are two branches, one in Farringdon and the other in Shoreditch.

Swingers

Similar to Bounce, Swingers is a mini-golf bar. The food is amazing as well! There are two branches- one in Oxford Circus and the other near Aldgate. Get your golf clubs ready for a time of great food, good drinks and an amazing game!

Bar Elba

This one is a little different. Bar Elba is a rooftop bar in Waterloo. It is a normal bar, but the reason it makes this list is because of how pretty the ambience is. The bar is covered by a canopy of fairy lights and has a wonderful view of the Shard. For special occasions, there are workshops and events (example: pumpkin carving during Halloween) so make sure to check if there is anything going on during your visit.

Roof East

This bar is marketed as an “Adult Playground”. Located in Stratford, the bar changes it’s activities and menu based on the season. Now, the bar hosts a yummy summer menu with summertime activities such as rooftop cinema, batting cages, etc. During winter, they have ice skating and a cosy winter menu. Make sure to check if they are open before planning a visit as they are a seasonal bar and so aren’t open throughout the year.
