Winter is a season for shopping. Along with the dropping temperature, it is the people’s never-dropping enthusiast for celebration and shopping. With Christmas, the New Year and more, what else could give more justification for a bit indulgence in spending, especially with all the enticing discount signs on the shining windows. If you’re one of the applicants who are waiting for the offer from LSE, here is a shopping list of wardrobes for blending into London city.

First and the most important, windbreakers, wind coats, or trench coats. It can be a suit, a jacket or whatever style you prefer, the keyword here is “wind”. Do make sure it has the magic power to shield you from the “wind”. Once you set foot on the land of London, one of the most common climatic phenomena you may feel is windy, given the fact that most of you probably might arrive in the city in autumn. A windbreaker will be the most reliable friend that could keep your spirit up instead of shivering in the chilly early autumn wind. Of course, it does not have to be a Burberry, a classic, versatile windproof outfit is good enough.

Second, waterproof jackets and shoes. Yes, it rains a lot in London, and the drops of rain always come out of nowhere. You probably look out of the window million times to be sure it is a big sunning day. By the second you’re all dressed up, it starts raining! Therefore, a proper waterproof jacket along with one pair of waterproof shoes is your daily saver. You may even spare umbrellas if you choose a waterproof hoodie. One of the most bizarre scenarios I encounter as a newcomer in the city is no one uses umbrellas in the rain! OK, I might be a bit exaggerating, however, I guarantee that striking straight onto the street with your “secret weapon”— a waterproof jacket will bring a taste of blending into this city.

Third, no rules, whatever you like. London is a diverse city. You may encounter some astonishing dresses when walking in the street. So, no dressing code is the only code here, as long as you’re not on the way to a job interview. The best way to be dressed up is to be dressed up in “your” style. However, leggings do seem extremely popular among girls and well-fitted blazers are truly fitting the image of a British gentleman.

Hope you would not be disappointed that it is not a long shopping list. After all, you must be practical considering the space of travelling suitcases. One thing you may bear in mind is— Hello, it is LSE, it is London, it is not a barren land at the end of the world! You can find every style here for your wardrobe. Good luck with your shopping!
