Mahon O’Brien is Lecturer in Philosophy at the University of Sussex. His work focuses mainly on nineteenth- and twentieth-century European philosophy. His first book, Heidegger and Authenticity: From Resoluteness to Releasement (Continuum, 2011), focuses on Heidegger and the question of authenticity. His current research project offers a new approach to the Heidegger controversy and, in particular, examines the notion of an authentic historical community in Heidegger’s thought.
