A small web video site run by a South African in China has sparked off an interesting argument elsewhere on this weblog. A guest student blogger posted an article here about how she thought that the Sexy Beijing item on Chinese people using Western names was an example of cultural imperialism. Interestingly, some US/Chinese websites have taken up the issue and it’s kickstarted a good global conversation. One of the good things about the web is the way that this kind of dialogue can happen.
