Why has Latin America been so heavily affected by the global economic crisis during the COVID-19 pandemic? We speak with the economist and scholar Eduardo Levi Yeyati. We discuss how the pandemic has exposed pre-existing inequalities in Latin American labour markets and unveiled a growth problem. Finally, we speak about ways to achieve sustainable economic growth and reduce poverty in the region.
