Ready to start your own venture?

It’s out with the old and in with the new. You eagle-eyed students may have noticed an enticing new space open in St Clements Building and we’re here to tell you all about it.

Introducing the GenDen by LSE Generate!

LSE Generate: The School’s Home for Entrepreneurship

Helping students reach their full potential, LSE Generate is a school-funded department making entrepreneurship a reality for students with big dreams.

The Generate team works directly with budding student entrepreneurs to offer them multi-faceted guidance and support along their journey to launch successful business. Focusing on businesses with a social enterprise element, LSE Generate offers bespoke 1:1 mentoring, funding competitions, networking opportunities and so much more for students looking to break into the world of start-ups and innovation.

One of the most exciting opportunities for students is the Generator Accelerator Programme (GAP) which runs each year. The programme runs for 12 weeks offering students specific advice on launching their business in line with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals as well as office space and a termly grant.

And the fun doesn’t stop in London. Given LSE’s widely diverse community, Generate have a huge number of international hubs where Alumni entrepreneurs can meet, work and collaborate together – because being an entrepreneur should never be lonely, wherever you are in the world.

The Hottest New Space on Campus

Pre-pandemic, LSE Generate was situated in Sardinia House, but there has been a massive upgrade which has grabbed the attention of many passers-by.

Officially launching in March this year, the GenDen London has opened its doors on the ground floor of St Clements Building (where the old Waterstones used to be). The space has been designed for students to work both collaboratively and individually on entrepreneurial projects they are working on.

The GenDen’s vibe is wildly different to anywhere else on campus. Featuring comfy sofas, bean-bag chairs, cozy blankets and some all-important office refreshments, the space has everything you could ever want in a workplace environment.

Importantly, the space is not like the library or work spaces in the CBG, the GenDen can get loud, busy and full of energy – creativity is seldom silent. We also encourage founders and entrepreneurs to mingle and mix, you never know where you could meet your next business partner.

Our doors are open! Should you wish to join us in the Den, please remember to book a space with us.

Generate-ers on the Gen Den

Here’s what some of the visitors say!

“Such a vibrant space, perfect for plotting how to solve the world’s problems! I love it!” Hannah, LSE alumnus 2012

“A great place to bump into other Founders. Can’t think of a better spot to develop my business on campus!” Adam, LSE student, 2022

What’s been going on?

Day-to-day in the Den we have large numbers of student and alumni founders using the space to work on their pitch decks, develop ideas and connect with their teams from all across the globe.

Each week we host a number of events tailored towards students, alumni, founders, school pupils, international entrepreneurs and so much more.

Some of our recent highlights include a coding bootcamp for LSE Women and a funding competition workshop helping entrepreneurs increase their chances to secure investment for their ideas.

How can you get involved?
