A few weeks ago, a classmate and I decided to get coffee after our Wednesday morning GV4A4: From Empire to Globalization lecture, the core course of the MSc Global Politics program. Although I’m not the type that needs coffee to function, I do enjoy finding places that serve a respectable cup of coffee.
While heading towards a particular cafe, my classmate spotted Double Shot Coffee Co. On a whim, we decided to check it out.
Even though my original intention was to get coffee, I ordered a chai latte while my classmate got a latte. To be honest, I wasn’t expecting much. I’ve haven’t had a mind-blowing chai latte since I’ve arrived in London. However, I found this particular cup to be extremely delicious. I was absolutely hooked.
Not only was my chai latte delicious, but the cafe’s atmosphere was really cozy. Double Shot Coffee Co. is the type of place where you could spend all afternoon imbibing a nice, hot drink while reading an amazing book.
To get to the cafe from the Old Building at LSE, go south on Houghton Street then turn right onto Aldwych. Turn right onto Catherine St then left onto Tavistock. The place will be to your left. The walk takes five minutes.
So if you want to go off campus for a little change of scenery, check out Double Shot Coffee Co. and treat yourself out!
Thank you! A decent cup of coffee (or chai!) is not to be underestimated. And I have a bit of trouble finding acceptable standards in this city, which, other than coffee, seems to be great at everything. 🙂
