It’s no coincidence that London has been ranked as the Best Student City in 2025 by QS Top Universities. One of the many reasons why I chose LSE as my university destination is its location and here’s why.

  1. Central location: LSE campus is located in the heart of London in the Borough of Camden and Westminster, just between Holborn and Covent Garden. The latter in particular is known for some of the city’s most popular tourist attractions, shopping centres, restaurants and entertainment venues. Just a few minutes walk from LSE are several West End shows like Evita, The Devil Wears Prada and The Lion King. Read Lola’s blog to find out more about catching musicals in Central London.
  2. Public transportation: The university is surrounded by numerous public transport links, with several Tube and bus stations within walking distance. This enables students to get to and from campus easily, as well as explore the rest of the city. Also, this allows students to live a bit further from campus close to neighbourhoods that they like! For tips on using London’s public transport system, read Magdalena’s blog.
  3. Cultural diversity: London is one of the most diverse cities in the world, and LSE reflects this diversity in its student population. As an international student, you will never miss home too much since your cuisine and culture is likely to be found somewhere in London.
  4. Opportunities for internships and networking: Aside from the various events held by LSE Careers and LSESU Societies, our location gives students access to a vast network of businesses, government agencies and non-profit organisations. This makes it easier for students to find internships and job opportunities as well as build their professional networks. To find out how LSE Careers can help you land an internship, read Matheus’s blog.

In conclusion, if you join LSE in London, you will never run out of things to explore. Not only will you be learning from one of the best institutions in the world, but you will also create long-lasting memories with friends and family!
