Alongside recognising our wonderful student volunteers, we also will be selecting one of our partner charities for the LSE Voluntary Organisation of the Year Award 2024! These charity partners go above and beyond for their dedication to the LSE community and realising our mission of inspiring and empowering LSE students to volunteer.

Creative Opps CIO

Creative Opps CIO was established in 2020 as a charity giving young people who have faced socio-economic disadvantage access to the tools, networks, and experience that they need to independently achieve their ambitions. They deliver user-led programmes, designed by and for young people, to support members in creating positive change for themselves and their communities.

Their mission is to teach young people transferable skills relevant to their interests and guide them to successfully navigate their chosen pathways and their vision is for all young people to understand the power of their creativity and use it to benefit their communities. Creative Opps CIO’s values are Inclusivity, Diversity, Youth Leadership, Reflection, Innovation and Social Impact.

End Violence and Racism Against ESEA Communities (EVR)

End Violence and Racism Against ESEA Communities (EVR) is an intergenerational anti-racism campaign group using intersectional approaches to educate on, redress and prevent structural racism and inequalities directed against East & Southeast Asian communities. This is in the context of rising racism and discrimination towards all minoritised groups, with whom they seek to build allyship and solidarity.

Imperial War Museums

IWM is a global authority on conflict and its impact on people’s lives. They collect objects and stories that give an insight into people’s experiences of war, preserve them for future generations, and bring them to today’s audiences in the most powerful way possible. Their family of five museums uncover the causes, course and consequences of war, from the First World War through to present-day conflict. Their volunteers help bring to life the stories of their collections, care for many significant objects and promote great customer experiences.

Helen Bamber Foundation

The Helen Bamber Foundation provides detailed and specialised care across six key areas for survivors of trafficking, torture, and extreme human cruelty. Their specialist teams of professionals provide therapy, medical advice, legal protection, housing and welfare, counter trafficking and help with integration into the community. This all-encompassing care ensures that Survivors heal, reclaim their independence, and start living fully.

ReachOut

ReachOut is a national mentoring and education charity, rooted in local communities. Working in under-resourced areas, they support young people to grow in character and confidence, sparking change in themselves and society. By making Character a central part of every ReachOut project, ReachOut aims to give mentees the tools they need to grow as individuals, taking these character strengths and applying them to their everyday lives in and out of the classroom.

Restorative Justice 4 All International Institute

Restorative Justice for All (RJ4All) is a charitable, user-led international institute with a vision of a world that embraces the restorative justice values of power sharing, fairness, equality, dignity, and respect, and where power abuse is rooted out. They pursue their mission by delivering social justice and poverty relief projects, free skills-development and educational programmes, youth clubs, intercultural and awareness raising workshops, internships, and high-quality volunteering opportunities.

Solidarity Sports

For over a decade, Solidarity Sports has harnessed the transformative power of play to nurture disadvantaged children recovering from complex trauma. They support children’s healing through sports, healthy eating, arts, educational trips, mentorship programmes and holidays within the UK and abroad. The glue that binds their programmes together is a commitment to creating a safe, inclusive, and loving environment where happy memories can flourish.

Spring ACT

Spring ACT’s vision is to empower people to take action and help eliminate global social injustices through technology. Their mission is to collaborate with partners across borders and industries to connect people in vulnerable situations to the resources they require. Their purpose is to assist those in need through innovative solutions.

Their chatbot, Sophia, is the first of its kind; available 24/7 to anyone impacted by domestic violence who needs assistance. Regardless of your location, you can access Sophia via your messaging app or sophia.chat at any time, completely anonymously, and without leaving a digital trace.
