LSE Volunteering Festival 2020 – what’s happening?

We’re kickstarting another fantastic year of student volunteering with the first ever LSE Volunteering Festival 2020🎪! It’s the perfect opportunity for you to meet the wide variety of charities that the Volunteer Centre work with. Each charity will be offering a range of UK based and/or international volunteering opportunities that can help you gain new skills for your future career whilst you give back to a good cause at the same time.

What are the different types of events?

Volunteering: when, how, why and what?: You might have never volunteered before or maybe you’re not 100% sure how to kick start volunteering during your LSE experience. This event is a friendly introduction to how we can help you find a role for a cause you are passionate about. We’ll also be opening up the floor for questions!

#CharityTuesdays: Nice hashtag, but what is this? To celebrate #CharityTuesday, we’ll be inviting an organisation onto an Instagram Live session to discuss how students can volunteer with them. During the Festival, we’ll be hosting 2 different organisations to give you a chance to ask them your questions and find out more.

One-off volunteering: Afraid you don’t have time to volunteer? Or have you never volunteered before? Why not join one of our one-off volunteering opportunities and meet students from around the school whilst doing something good. Opportunities take up maximum one day, with no further commitment. We’ll be hosting one during the festival, but we have a whole program of one-offs which you can explore here.

In conversation with charities: We’re gutted that we can’t host our annual fair, but we’re excited to be running 5 different Zoom sessions with 25 of our charity partners! It’s a fantastic opportunity for you to hear from our charity partners about what volunteering looks like in their organisation and ask them any questions.

So, check out the Festival Program 2020! Book your space on CareerHub.
