Timeline
Welcome to this historical timeline for the London School of Economics and Political Science. LSE is rightly proud of its distinguished history and seeks to capture just some of it here, with a record of the most significant events in the School’s history, from its founding in 1895 to the announcement of its most recent Nobel.
The timeline is divided into two. The first hundred years contains entries on the School’s founders, as well as the formidable academics, from Harold Laski to Friedrich Hayek and Lionel Robbins, who shaped it. The second charts 1996 onwards. We will add to it as time goes by.
