LSE history timeline
Welcome to this historical timeline for the London School of Economics and Political Science. LSE is proud of our distinguished history and seeks to capture just some of it here, with a record of some of the most significant events in the School’s history, from the four founders to the announcement of our most recent Nobel.

The timeline is divided into two. The first hundred years contains entries on the School’s founders, as well as the formidable academics, from Harold Laski to Friedrich Hayek and Lionel Robbins, who shaped it. The second timeline charts 1996 onwards. We will add to it as time goes by.
