About the author

Catriona Riddell

Catriona is a chartered town planner who has worked at local, regional and national levels on the development and implementation of planning policy since 1990. As Director of Catriona Riddell & Associates Ltd, Catriona has delivered a number of projects across the country focusing on improving strategic planning mechanisms, including helping to set up new governance arrangements; supporting LEPs in their planning role; and supporting local authorities to develop policies for the provision of travellers' sites. She has recently been working with a number of local authorities to develop Joint Strategic Plans and long term place/ growth ambitions. Catriona also supports local planning authorities to develop their local plans, developing their visions and strategies. She recently co-authored a discussion paper - What does a good local plan look like? - based on her extensive experience on local plans.
