Every Tuesday, about 45 students sit quietly and attentively in the class in the lecture that I teach Class, Culture and Politics in the  Sociology Department at the LSE. I show the obligatory powerpoint presentation do a bit of theory and recommend some reading. This is a good method of teaching but I wanted to bring my lecture to life, and I wanted the students to experience an ethnographic walk, taking in the sounds, smells, and sights of a City. Three weeks ago we walked as a group from Whitechapel Art Gallery to Fieldgate Street, taking in Cable Street, and Leman Street. Consequently the students have written a series of blogs about the day.
