Never would I have thought that I’d actually fulfill my secret ambition to do something related to drama. I’ve always admired the kids at my high school who auditioned for parts without fear or got involved with stage management. Since this will be my last year in school (no PhD for me!), I figured that this will be my last shot! With that said…
I’m producing a play called Krishnan’s Dairy. It is about Gobi and Zina Krishnan, two newly arrived Indian immigrants in New Zealand who set up a dairy in a suburban town. Their journey is juxtaposed against the epic love story of mogul emperor Shah Jahan and his wife Mumtaz Mahal, for whom he built the Taj Mahal.
For those of you in London, the play will be performed next Monday to Wednesday (February 4 to 6) at 7pm in the Underground (below the Three Tuns). A ticket costs £3. You can buy tickets on Houghton St from 10am to 2pm this week or at the door. Hope you check it out!
